• Upcoming Indo-Japan event: Surendra and Prof. Shotaro Tada will be organizing the International Symposium on Emerging Research in Advanced Materials from 27-29th June 2025. MoU will be signed between IIT M and Nagoya University, Japan. For more details, please click here

• Kumar Shwetabh will be presenting his Postdoctoral Research at European Materials Research Society (E-MRS 2025) France on 25th May 2025. Kumar has also received support from ANRF-ITS travel grant. Congratulations, Kumar!!

• New Project Grant: Surendra receives the ANRF Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant (PMECRG), which will help our LDS lab to start setting up optoelectronic devices. Students interested in working on optoelectronic devices based on 2D materials can contact Surendra for Ph.D. or  project position

• Surendra organized the Institute Open House 2025, representing the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering

• Surendra's work on "Ultrastrong Light-Matter Coupling in Two-dimensional Metal-Organic Chalcogenolates" was published in Nature Photonics (Impact Factor: 32.3)

• Reitesh KV Raman joins our group for his B.Tech thesis work on Exciton-polariton based optoelectronic devices
